Playing dress up!

The monsoon is on its way out, and we can't decide if we're glad we can finally wear all the whites and brights we feared wearing for the past 4 months, or if we're distressed by the terrible October heat! 

Since I refuse to wear anything good & step out in the rains, Diana & I played dress up one afternoon last month! 

I teamed up this super cheap heart print tee (150 bucks!) with my mint-y skirt! Another outfit with this skirt - http://bit.ly/Re6bed The shoes, which are from Metro (got it in a sale for Rs. 500. Not kidding.) are my confidence booster pair. The sequined clutch from Globus is an absolute gem! Don't you agree?

Lavie Autumn/Winter 2013 Collection: A Review

A month ago, we were invited to check out the Lavie Autumn/ Winter at Palledium, Lower Parel. Blogger events are always fun filled - food, drinks, blogger friends, gossip and most importantly fashion! There's something very thrilling about visiting a store and discovering some amazing characteristic of a brand which you didn't seem to notice before, or sometimes a brand might not reflect your style/fashion sense yet you walk out with that one single piece that seems like it was just made for you. Oh, the joy!

Lavie Autumn/Winter Collection

What we liked:

Plethora of Colours: 

As much as we are drawn towards the minimalism of monotones, vibrant colours are an instant mood lifter. The cherry reds, peacock greens and sunshiney yellows make you want to enter a store and check everything out.

'Fit your Life into the Bag' sizes:

Diana is always complaining about how those darling, tiny sling bags can never carry her entire life, which is how she wants it! We found the Lavie bags spacious and well compartmentalized.

For the Working Woman:

Unless you are working in the awesome fashion industry, we see a need for sober yet pretty bags that don't look widely out of place yet doesn't make you compromise on the fashion aspect. 

Ipad/Laptop cases:

We were absolutely delighted to see the chic Ipad & laptop cases! You must check them out!

What we disliked:

Prices:

We felt like some bags were overpriced.

Lack of prints/textures:

If you've been following our blog regularly, you'll know just how much we adore prints/textures and would have loved to see more of those on the bags.

Noir + Rouge

The monsoon is on its way out. As much as we appreciate the lush greenery, the romance in the air and the coziness it creates, we are glad about one thing - we can get all our favourite pieces out of the closet again without worrying about it not being rain-friendly! 

There are some fashion fundas we love - like how a combination of red+black can hardly go wrong, or again how a combination of black clothes and gold accessories always look chic.

Here, I've paired an organic tee with this gorgeous red skirt both from Zara. Love how versatile the skirt is, it could be dressed up as well as down. In those super heaty B'bay days cotton tees are every girl's savior, without trying too hard one could look effortless. Here I paired gold accessories with the outfit to dress it up a bit. In loooove with kolapuris, the most comfy and flattering shoes ever. And that beautiful gold accented bag, a complete steal, was bought on a trip to Goa. Last but not the least, the Egyptian inspired earrings were a gift from a dear friend that I cherish a lot.

Un jour à le Lakme Fashion Week- A/W '13

The real fun of attending the Fashion Week lies in discovering some amazing new talents,the excitement of top models breezing past in their effortless style and having the entire fashion circuit under one roof. It was all that and more on the 2nd Day of Lakme Fashion Week 2013 when we dropped by to see the Jatin Varma and Payal Singhal show! It was a fun evening with all the glitz and glam we've always loved!

Dwelling in the Pink

Hello guys!

It has been long, hasn't it? Well, no excuses on our side except that we are in the dreaded 3rd year of college and a little too caught up in the drama of life. So recently we both met up after quite a while and were complaining about how we give no attention to our baby a.k.a our blog! So we've decided we'll be posting only one outfit per post rather than the two like we were doing before. So sometimes it'll be Rachana posing and the other times Diana! At least that way we have more posts! :P

Now about the outfit,

I have paired a soothing baby pink balloon top with light denims. Even though I usually steer clear from balloon tops - as they only end up making me look plump, this one was an exception. The neck piece, which I bought specifically keeping this top in mind, was an absolute bargain. I bought it from a lady on Hill road for only 80 bucks! The black bag is my go-to bag since it's a neutral it goes well with every outfit. Now, for the favourite part - the shoes! Although we totally forgot to click a clear picture of just the shoes, I got these from Elle Fashionwear and boy, am I in love or what!

Accessories: Add Ons

Anyone who has stumbled across our blog cannot have missed noticing our fascination with accessories. Whether it is stacked up arm candy or dainty earrings, we hardly leave our homes without accessories on. So when we stumbled across Add ons shopping website, we had to take a better look.

What we liked about the collection is that we can score a great deal for a reasonable price. From pretty pearl earring to edgy studded footwear - there is something in there for everyone.

Our top picks from the collection:

Edgy Earrings:

A good pair of earring can transform the drabbest outfit into a little more fun. These infinity earrings from the collection made us want to order them on the spot - small but catchy.

Colourful Shoes:

Shoes are necessary investment pieces. But visuals need not go for a toss because of comfort. The gorgeous flats work both as eye soothers as well as will feel like a breeze.

Arm Stash:

Loading the arm with a beautifully crafted cuff or a good old charm bracelet can complete any outfit. It's what we run to when we want to and a new element to an old outfit.

Caps/Hats:

We are not really hat people but that doesn't stop us from admiring people who carry them off well!

Transition

Often when we watch sitcoms, other than loving the hot actors and capturing storylines, we can't help noticing how the lead actress gets to have different wardrobes as the seasons change. The colours are always right, textures and patterns in trend with the perfect material used to suit the weather. But we surely aren't that lucky - 1) for the fact that our seasons are a mix and match of god knows what and 2) our bank balance has a limit.

But rather than fretting the small stuff we choose to make the best of what we have. Here we've incorporated our fall pieces into a summer day outfit as we weren't ready for the summer dresses to come out as yet! ;)
